The 59th Congregation of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) commended the appointment of Haruna Aliyu as the 7th substantive Registrar of the University.
Aliyu’s appointment, made by the 15th Governing Council on Thursday, August 22, 2024, was celebrated during the Congregation meeting held on Saturday, December 14, 2024. It marked his first attendance as Registrar.
Bayero University, Kano (BUK) held its 59th Meeting of the Congregation on Saturday, December 14, 2024. The meeting focused on key issues relating to the growth and development of the University.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, who chaired the meeting, addressed Academic Activities, Administrative Matters, and Project Completion and Execution.

The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, formally received the accreditation report for the Early Childhood Education and Primary Education programs on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The report was presented by the accreditation team from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) received five teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on Monday, December 9, 2024, to accredit nine academic programmes. The programmes under review include BSc Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, BSc Forensic Science, Masters in Entrepreneurship, Early Childhood Education, and Primary Education.
